I was literally humming Why this Kolaverdi while writing this important announcement. Okay, so why this name change? Here’s the long story short; Guppu.com was a very appealing and naughty name and was very close to my heart because this is what started off as a personal blog of mine. The name was too funny and non-serious that I could say a lot of things on my blog and get away with it, some of them big enough that they could easily itch anyone. I could easily get away with the stuff I used to write because I knew no one would take it serious anyways.

I started Guppu.com in 2008 as a personal blog and it has come a long way since then, well, not very long =P. But still we had some achievements which include news we exclusively broke and a blog award we won for that. It has subsequently grown to a level that we now have a small team of writers and editors for the project. The kind of serious content we’ve been producing lately didn’t really go well with the name Guppu.com so we had to decide upon that. So after a short research, we concluded that it’s definitely the time we came up with a serious name and took the responsibility of what we write here.

There came the idea of AurBlog along with many other names. After a thorough brainstorming sessions and discussions, we decided upon AurBlog.com. Now to answer what were we thinking to name our blog AurBlog! Aur actually is an Urdu word which means more/different. Therefore, I think AurBlog will perfectly suit our blog.
